Billing

We are a private billing practice and our charges are less than Australian Medical Association recommended rates and we do bulk bill under special circumstances. We also accept DVA patients and Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA) Gold Card holders will be fully covered. If any financial constraints, please discuss with the doctor or the practice manager in the clinic.
Payment is accepted by EFTPOS and cash only. All major credit cards and debit cards accepted.

Medicare reimbursement

For all outpatient visits, we request payment on the day. If you have financial hardship or other special circumstances, please discuss this with your doctor or practice manager.
If you have a valid Medicare Card, you can claim your Medicare benefit and have it paid into your nominated bank account provided you have your details registered with Medicare.

Day unit and Inpatient Treatment (Private Health Fund reimbursement)

Our service has entered into arrangements with most private insurers to cover all of your doctor’s charge, meaning you will not have to contribute towards the doctor’s bill out of your own pocket when you have your treatment in the Day unit and also while you are admitted to the Cairns private hospital. In most cases you will never see a bill for chemotherapy and other day and inpatient treatments. Please clarify this with your private health insurer, as there are rare exceptions.

Referrals

A current referral is necessary to enable you to claim your Medicare rebate. The referral you have received from your specialist will only last 3 months. Therefore you will need to get a 12 month or indefinite referral from your GP. If you are not sure please discuss with the reception staff.
